The only reason I am posting up my old middle school paper is because it is what sparked the question and I enjoy sharing my writings with others.
It is important to remember that I wrote this paper back in middle school and that I did not edit it at all as I copied it from paper to Word (except to space out the paragraphs as to make it easier to read) and I like to think that my writing ability has approved since this particular piece. It got me an A so I guess it was good for that time. xD

Our very own Declaration of Independence clearly states that, ?all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain, unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.? Our Declaration clearly states that we have the right to live but should this not also go hand-in-hand with the right to die? If happiness can be found in death then is not our government denying us our natural rights by making a law against human euthanasia for the terminally ill?
Jack Kevorkian was born on May 26, 1928 in Pontiac, Michigan. He is an American pathologist of Armenian descent as well as a painter, composer, and instrumentalist. In 1952, Kevorkian graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor but had his medical license revoked by the state of Michigan in 1991 after assisting two terminally ill patients in suicide.
According to Geoffrey Fieger, Kevorkian?s lawyer, Jack Kevorkian assisted in the suicides of 130 people over a period of eight years (1990-1998). In each of these 130 cases, Kevorkian never administered the euthanasia drug himself but rather hooked his patients up to a machine of his own design that would administer the drug through an IV when and only when the patient pushed a button to do so. In this sense, it absolved Kevorkian from murder during his numerous trials concerning assisted suicide.
It was not until a November 22, 1998 airing of 60 Minutes that prosecutors would finally have the evidence they needed to convict Jack Kevorkian of second-degree murder. Kevorkian allowed a videotape he made on September 17, 1998 to be aired where he was shown personally administering a lethal injection to 52 year old Thomas Youk after Youk provided his full consent for the action.
Jack Kevorkian had only administered the injection personally because Thomas Youk, who was suffering from the final stages of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), was physically unable to do so himself. On March 26, 1999, Kevorkian was convicted of second-degree murder and delivery of a controlled substance which he was not legally allowed to possess because of his medical license having been revoked in ?91.
A Michigan jury found Kevorkian guilty for second-degree murder and he was sentenced to 10-25 years in prison in Coldwater, Michigan. He served eight years and was paroled in 2007 under the circumstances that he would not comment on inquiries of assisted suicide and that he would no longer assist terminally ill patients in suicide.
A man who was not just slowly dying but was suffering on top of it asked Jack Kevorkian for his help and Kevorkian helped him. The injustice of the situation does not begin with Kevorkian?s incarceration for assisted suicide but rather it began with the denying of assisted suicide to those who are terminally ill.
The decision of whether or not a competent person has the right to die should be left up to no one else except for that person. It is wrong to give a man the freedom to pursue what makes him happy and then, in the end where it counts most, to deny him the right to end that which is denying him that happiness. The will of the individual should be just that, the individual?s. Government does not equal God and thus they hold no right over the life and death of any individual.

Saudi activist acquitted after 5 years' detention
RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) ? A Saudi court has acquitted a rights activist who spent five years in detention accused of supporting al-Qaida's ideology.
The Saudi Press Agency says a court in the capital Riyadh on Sunday threw out the charges against Said bin Zeghair for lack of evidence.
Bin Zeghair, a professor at an Islamic university in Riyadh, has long been advocating liberalization and reforms in the kingdom. His trial was attended by family members and representatives of rights groups and the media.
Bin Zeghair was first detained in 1995 but was freed after nine years without being charged or tried. Later he was sentenced to five years in prison but was pardoned when King Abdullah ascended to the throne in 2005. He was later detained in 2007.

How a black hole survived the destruction of its galaxy
The Hubble telescope has spotted the remains of a destroyed galaxy, whose sole remains consist of a black hole and a cloud of gas, which has spawned a cluster of new stars.?
Like a fossil hinting at a long-gone animal, a black hole is offering clues about a now-destroyed galaxy that may once have existed around it.
Skip to next paragraphThe?Hubble Space Telescope?recently spied a cluster of young blue stars surrounding a rare mid-weight black hole that suggests the black hole was once at the center of a dwarf galaxy. Astronomers think this galaxy was torn apart by the gravity of a larger host galaxy that it orbited.
The violent encounter would have stripped away most of the dwarf galaxy's stars, but it also could have compressed the gas around its central black hole, triggering a new wave of star formation. It is these new stars that Hubble recently saw signs of.
The observations suggest that the young stars must be less than 200 million years old, meaning the?collision between the parent galaxy?and its dwarf likely occurred around that time.
"The fact that there's a very young cluster of stars indicates that the intermediate-mass black hole may have originated as the central black hole in a very low-mass dwarf galaxy,"Sean Farrell, of the Sydney Institute for Astronomy in Australia, said in a statement. "The dwarf galaxy was then swallowed by the more massive galaxy." [When Galaxies Collide: Photos of Great Galactic Crashes]
Besides revealing clues about the lost galaxy, the black hole itself, called HLX-1 (Hyper-Luminous X-ray source 1), is scientifically interesting, researchers said.
When Farrell and his colleagues discovered HLX-1in 2009, it was the first intermediate-mass black hole known. Scientists think it may represent a class of middleweight black holes that are the building blocks for the supermassive black holes lurking at the center of most large galaxies, including our own Milky Way.
"This black hole is unique in that it's the only?intermediate-mass black hole?we've found so far. Its rarity suggests that these black holes are only visible for a short time," said Mathieu Servillat, a member of the research team who conducted his work at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Mass.
This specimen contains the mass of about 20,000 suns, and is located roughly 290 million light-years from Earth. In comparison, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way is as massive as 4 million suns.
By studying this rare middleweight black hole, scientists hope to learn more about how they, and their larger supermassive brethren, form.
"For the first time, we have evidence on the environment, and thus the origin, of this middle-weight black hole," Servillat said.
The researchers report their findings in the Feb. 15 issue of the Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Like any good online marketing strategy backend sales should make up at least 90% of your online sales. This is why if you don?t have a backend list of customers you are missing out on most of the cash flow potential you can be generating with your product. I?m talking about earning $300,000 instead of only making $30,000 without leveraging backend sales.
Now that you know how serious this is I?m going to do the best I can to break things down into phases your customers should go through. You might have a product you want to sell for $2,000 but no one, or at least most people are not going to spend $2,000 on a product from a person they don?t know. This is why phase marketing is crucial to see the true value and success of your online business.
Phase 1 ? The Freebie Product: No matter what your market is everyone enjoys free things. So why would you give out a product for free? Two words? Lead Generation. It?s pretty easy to get someone to give you their name and email address in order to receive a free product. I know personally I?d feel much more comfortable giving out my email for a free product than handing over cash for the same product. With this you want to provide a decent product, but at low cost to you. If the product you?re giving away isn?t decent or only just half a product more than likely no one will be interested in parting with money for what you?re offering.
Phase 2 ? The Cheap Product: This is where you will see the biggest change and that is converting the people out to grab everything free they can to those who are interested in becoming customers. I?d probably say anything under $100 falls into this category. This phase isn?t set up to make you a lot of money but really to sort out the people who will become customers and those that most likely won?t. Another key factor to this phase is trust building. You will not be able to sell your high ticket products to anyone without a relationship of trust built up.
Phase 3 ? Gen Pop Product: This phase goes to the general population product of your list. These people have already proven they are willing to try your product(s) so the next step is to introduce them to other products they might be interested in that fall into a slightly higher price bracket. Products under $200 would qualify for this price range and work exceptionally well as long term backend sales.
Phase 4 ? The Premium Product: These are your high ticket items that will sell for anything up to $1300. The person buying these products have built up a relationship of trust in you and your products and know that what you?re offering is quality and with quality comes a premium price. This is usually a good point to break the mold and treat everyone as an individual with their own goals and business needs. They have proven a dedication to your products and you will want to do what you can to keep them subscribed and buying more.
Phase 5 ? Premium Plus: For those customers who continue to spend thousands of dollars on your products. They should be receiving their own one on one consulting and invitations to seminars along with plenty of freebies other customers would have to pay for. By this point there is no need to sell these product or to these customers through affiliates.
If you follow the phases above and leverage affiliates and joint venture contacts you should have a fair list size of customers both new and loyal.

I got involved with these people while i was over in Kuwait/Iraq. I had a lot of credit card debt after a divorce and they assured me that they could help fix everything. At the time i had a 780 credit score and they told me that their program would not hurt my credit score. They started taking money out of my account at the rate of $1097 dollars per month. After a few months i called to check on the progress and found that they had not settled a single account. I waited a couple more months and still nothing. Itold them at that time to stop taking money out of my account and they refused. I called my bank and the bank said that i would have to be there in person to stop the withdrawals. Freedom debt relief took advantage of the fact that i was overseas and kept taking money out of my account. After taking over $18,000 dollars out of my account and only paying roughly $7000 dollars on accounts, I finally got back to the US and put a stop to their withdrawals. This leaves $11000 left that they refused to return. I would not deal with these people at all. I would advise other people to take their money and run as far away from this company as possible.

An opposition frontbencher has been accused of playing Solitaire as Prime Minister Julia Gillard addressed the lower house on Wednesday morning.
Labor MP Yvette D'Ath claims she was sitting with school students in the gallery when one of them spotted the unnamed MP enjoying the single player card game.
Ms D'Ath said she had no objections to iPads being used in parliament but questioned if such behaviour was appropriate considering the importance of the occasion.
The prime minister was at the time making a 30-minute address to parliament about the Closing the Gap report on indigenous disadvantage.
Speaker Peter Slipper said that while some MPs might consider playing Solitaire a good use of chamber time, he didn't approve of it.
But it's not against the lower house rules, which allow politicians to use laptops and to text on mobile phones.
"I don't think that playing Solitaire is probably beyond the standing orders," he said.
"But I don't think that it's necessarily a good use of technology in the House of Representative of the Australian parliament."
